Espace Culturel "Du Côté des Renoir"

Welcomed first at the Espace Renoir, visitors will discover through the screening of a film and the permanent exhibition on the Renoir family how the painter fell in love with the small native village of Aline, his wife, where he spent nearly 30 summers. With the "Renoir route", visitors will follow in Renoir's footsteps to discover the village of Essoyes, which will take them to the family home. They will then return to the intimacy of the Renoir family by visiting the painter's house and studio, both labeled Maison des Illustres. To conclude the Renoir route, a visit to the family burials at the cemetery is a must. Indeed, Auguste Renoir loved this village so much that the painter, his wife and their three sons are buried there.
