Camille Claudel et Bernhard Hoetger

Presented at the Paula Modersohn-Becker Museum in Bremen and at the Alte Nationalgalerie in Berlin in 2025, this exhibition is to be discovered in France at the Camille Claudel Museum from September 2026.
It brings together the works of two artists whose paths crossed several times in Paris at the turn of the 20th century: Camille Claudel and Bernhard Hoetger. Both join in their quest for recognition and in their desire to emancipate themselves from the influence of the master of sculpture, Auguste Rodin. In 1905, the works of the French sculptor were exhibited in the gallery of the merchant Eugène Blot, alongside those of the German artist, ten years his junior. In the midst of the avant-garde, everyone develops a singular artistic vivacity, whose influence goes beyond borders. More than 120 years later, these two major figures of sculpture are reunited again.
