Between major works, discoveries and encounters between artists and the public, the 2026 festival invites everyone to experience music differently.

If the Musicancy Festival exists, it is primarily thanks to a territory, its inhabitants, the vital forces of the association and an exceptional heritage that brings us together in the heart of the castle of Ancy-le-Franc and its surroundings. Musicancy strongly believes that music is not a luxury, but a link between generations, artists and inhabitants. In 2026, we affirm this identity more than ever so that the festival is both demanding and accessible, anchored locally and open to the world. Proposing such an artistic adventure is an act of trust in the curiosity of the public, in the strength of the collective, in culture as a driver of dynamism, attractiveness and cohesion... a real challenge in an extremely fragile budgetary context. A history of baroque dance… What is ancient dance? A relic of the past or an ever-present choreographic language? Between historical heritage, heritage research and contemporary creation, how can these dances be revived in an authentic and inspired way? More than twenty years ago, these questions marked the beginning of Pierre-François Dollé's exciting journey into the heart of ancient dances. Today, they invite reflection: how can these styles interact with 21st century dance? Why and how to recreate them? An exploration that is at once historical, artistic and resolutely modern.

A baroque ball for all… Enter the dance, just after the conference on its history: discover the emblematic steps of the baroque period (minuet, drunk, jig or other treasures) for a memorable musical and choreographic journey. Open to all, young and old, beginners or enthusiasts, this ball is an invitation to joy and discovery. No need for experience, just the desire to be carried away by the magic of the "Belle Danse", in a friendly atmosphere and a collective energy.

Between unpublished discoveries — Antoniotto, Platti, Garavaglia, Ruvo, Taglietti — and masterpieces by Vivaldi or Bach, this program reveals an instrument in full metamorphosis: virtuoso, sensitive, deeply human. A captivating musical adventure that resurrects forgotten treasures and celebrates the birth of a new star: the cello.

Return of the Ensemble Masques for the 2nd consecutive year with three major cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach: cantatas BWV 39, 80 and 81. Driven by a rare collective energy, the ensemble reveals all the spiritual power, theatricality and expressive depth of these works. Between dazzling fervor, inner fights and luminous impulses, this program offers a musical journey of rare intensity: a highlight of the 2026 edition of Musicancy with a regional ensemble recognized in France and internationally.

"It looks like the South": this is what you will feel when listening to Canto by Matthieu Chazarenc. A colorful jazz, rooted in the musician's native Southwest, sailing between Spain, the Mediterranean, the East and the Caribbean, mixing warmth, spices and intimate emotions. Compositions like real songs without words, where nostalgia, revolt, desire for change and call from the sea intersect. A solar trip proposed by Matthieu Chazarenc (drums) and his faithful travelling companions: Christophe Wallemme (double bass), Sylvain Gontard (bugle) and Laurent Derache (accordion).

Three moments of music and storytelling

Ensemble Les Accords Nouveaux: Pernelle Marzorati & Thomas Vincent: Dans un salon au XVIIIe siècle – Musicancy Jeunes Talents Duo de chambre. This duo explores the chamber repertoire of the 18th century, highlighting the refined combination of harp and lute. Through unpublished arrangements of works by Joseph Haydn, Johann Kropfgans and other leading figures of the time, this duo immerses us in the aristocratic salons of the Enlightenment. Refined, evanescent, this program promises a moment of pure poetry.

Pierre Gallon: English Night. Solo keyboards. Journey to the heart of an English night around 1600. Between dreams, disturbing strangeness, darkness and dawn, this program explores several facets of the night with the help of surprising keyboards: virginal, ottavino, toypiano, harpsichord. A moment suspended in intimacy around the treasures of anonymous or known music of Byrd, Bull or Dowland.

"Viva la Gracia!" takes root in the sacred music of the seventeenth century, with the "villancicos de remedo" (adapted instrumental dances), to take us to the traditional songs and Bolivian dances of the twentieth century. Through a rare repertoire and an authentic and respectful approach, this concert celebrates the meeting of cultures, where African rhythms, baroque harmonies and Andean melodies intertwine. A true ode to joy and a tribute to the communities that have shaped Bolivia's sonic soul.
