Description
A walk to discover Ancy-le-Franc and its magnificent Renaissance castle, a unique example of square architecture in France! A walk on the heights of Ancy-le-Franc to rediscover its industrial history!
1. Le Champ de la Lamé, 89160 ANCY-LE-FRANC.
2. To your right, the river port of Ancy-le-Franc. In front of you is a bridge. You climb to its level and cross the road, cautiously, going straight ahead and continuing on the towpath.
3. You arrive at the "Rapille" lock. You turn right by taking the bridge that crosses the Burgundy Canal, then, at its exit, you take the track
sandy that goes to your right. You continue on this trail.
4. The road leads to a high-traffic road (the D 905). You will head to the left by staying on the left side of this road. Then, very quickly, you will see, on the other side of this road, a path that goes through fields. Cross the road with great caution. Once you're on that path, you don't leave it.
5. An aisle leaves on your left, you ignore it and continue on the same track.
6. The runway leads to a crossover. Pines mark this crossroads. A paved road passes, higher up, nearby. You leave the track to take a stony path on the right that descends into the woods.
7. You take the street right in front of you, going down. You return to the village of Ancy-leFranc. At the bottom of this street, you turn right, then immediately left, and you take the street "le chemin de ronde". You will soon see a small sandy square on your right. You cross it to take the alley "de la Tour" which rushes between houses. It leads to a crossing. You take, straight ahead, the street "Haute" then on your right, the street "du Four".
8. You arrive on the main street, turn on your left until you reach Place Clermont-Tonnerre. Go down to the right to the Castle. Return to the Champ de la Lamé at the end of the aisle.
