Description

Here you will meet the vines of the Burgundy Thunder Appellation, and in particular the famous vines of the Emperor who withstood the phylloxera crisis at the end of the 19th century. This tour will take you from the limestone plateaus to the Armançon valley and the banks of the Burgundy Canal.
1. Back to the town hall, go left. A little further on, take the rue "de la Rose". You pass by a tiny pond (on your right). Very quickly you find yourself facing a fork. Take the dirt track that starts on your left. Do not take into account the wide paths that go left or right. You stay on your trail that gradually descends and turns into a grassy driveway, all the way to Roffey. 2. Turn left on rue des Sardins and then right towards a bridge that spans a railway track. At the crossroads, take the road ahead. Do not leave this road that brings you closer to the Burgundy Canal. 3. You arrive near a bridge that leads to the village of Tronchoy. Turn left. You arrive on the D905 (be careful!). Cross the road through the pedestrian crossing. Walk up the Rue du Grand Château. Take a left at Place Saint-Germain and then a right at Route de Lignières. When you reach the fork, turn left on Rue Notre-Dame de Bellevue. Go up the path on the left to the chapel. Pass in front of the water tower and turn right along the wall of the small castle. 4. You return to the Lignières road. Turn left and join the D905. Cross the road (be careful!). You arrive in Cheney. Turn right on rue Saint-Germain. At the end of the street, turn right and then left on rue du Four. Turn right towards Rue de la Croix Blanche. Pass over the Canal Bridge and turn left on the towpath. Arriving at the next lock (No.98), turn right and continue until you reach Vézinnes. You pass in front of the church, turn right onto the Main Street. 5. You come to a fork. Take the paved road that goes up slightly to the left. You ignore, a little further, a path that goes to the right. You stay on this asphalt road that soon turns into a gravel road. 6. You walk along a tarmac road for 50m. Leave it to take a slightly uphill grassy driveway on your right. The driveway turns into a narrower path that rushes into the forest, on the left, downhill. You leave the forest and arrive on a perpendicular track. 7. At this level, turn right and then fork left. Pass under the power lines and continue straight to the Vézannes road. Take a right and then a left on Rue des Sablons. Turn right on Rue Saint-Jacques and join the church.
